About 8 Count

8 Count Fragrances is a collection of natural perfumes that are artfully inspired by dance.   Started in 2011 by Monique and Bethany in Newport, RI  the story of 8 Count Fragrances centers around three things: our passion for dance; our philanthropic commitment to support non-profit dance companies and dance education; and our wish that all women have the inspiration and confidence to creatively express who they are and how they feel.

Our passion for dance

We are both passionate about dance!  We grew up dancing and continue to take dance classes well into our adult years.  Ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, ballroom…we love all these styles; we love how they each allow us to express ourselves in different ways.

Philanthropic commitment to support
non profit dance companies and dance education

We proudly sit on the Board of Directors for Island Moving Company, a professional, contemporary ballet company in Newport, RI.  We are truly grateful and appreciative to be able to see incredible, inspirational dance in our own city and as members of the Board of the Directors, we understand the fiscal and fundraising challenges that professional dance companies face.  We hope our contributions will make a small difference in supporting their mission and vision.

Our wish that all women have the inspiration and confidence to express who they are and how they feel:  This is where dance and 8 Count Fragrances intersect.  Our collection of perfumes allows women to choose a fragrance that reflects how they want to express themselves at any given time.   Women are so dynamic and multi dimensional, we want women to tap into all the fascinating sides of themselves and express the many sides of their personalities through fragrance.  Just as different styles of dance allow you to express yourself in different ways, so can perfume.
